Rainbow Early Intervention (REI) is a service provider for Tennessee Early Intervention System (TEIS) and is part of the Upper Cumberland District.
- REI is a program that serves only Sumner County, TN and is also financially supported by the United Way of Sumner County.
- REI provides a learning experience for children from birth up to 48 months of age and their families and/or caregivers.

Who does REI Serve?
- Children from Birth up to 48 months of age in Sumner County.
- Children that qualify, which is based on a screening and developmental test given by the Tennessee Early Intervention System (TEIS) or a medical diagnosis
How does a child obtain REI Services?
- By Referral from Tennessee Early Intervention System (TEIS)
- TEIS can be contacted by calling 1-800-852-7157 or 931-528-1623
What is the Cost for REI Services?
- There is no charge for actual intervention services provided by REI.
How are REI Services implemented?
- REI Developmental Therapists visit the child's home or daycare and work with the parents and/or caregiver.
- The REI Developmental Therapist offers information and hands on modeling for the child, family or caregiver to teach and encourage the appropriate development for their child.
- All activities are geared to the child's capabilities and needs in anticipation of being age appropriate and independent in school and life.
